Jennifer R. Tanner

Hi! I'm Jennifer a.k.a. Jenny, born into a gold mining and farming family in the mountains of Northern California. I grew up around tractors, chainsaws, picks, shovels, honky tonk music, .22s, BB guns, and building tree forts in the manzanitas.

That life cultivated my natural attraction to my "cave engineering" style of making and my love for adventure. Hard work and resourcefulness are just part of the deal. I didn't have money to start – just restless creativity and a constant search for little nuggets of gold.

I've been earning money as a creative since 1992, starting as a tattoo apprentice in Santa Rosa, California. Somewhere along the way I decided to make handbags, picked up an industrial sewing machine, took an automotive upholstery class, and found my creative flow. That's been the thread ever since.

Over the years, I've had the honor of collaborating with brands like Ford Motor Company, NHRA, and Mooneyes Japan & USA. My work has sold all over the world, including Japan, Australia, Sweden, and across Europe. Somehow, pieces also found their way to Marky Ramone, Kat Von D, Demi Moore (one of my very first pieces), and a few American TV shows. All of it was a complete surprise – completely unsolicited. Just people loving a little brand called Trophy Queen. None of that was planned. It just happened because I kept showing up.

What I do now

Today, I'm an American-Swedish citizen working from Planet Earth – mostly in the EU, but home is more of a feeling than an address. I make limited-edition art bags under Trophy Queen. No mass production. No restocks. Just small batches or one-of-a-kind pieces, made until a special fabric runs out. Every bag gets registered in the Trophy Queen Vault with its own certificate of authenticity.

I work one-on-one with designers and makers through Jen Tanner Creative – helping them build brands, develop products, and run their businesses without losing their minds.

And I make mixed-media work as iNDiE POP! – that's the unfiltered, no-deadline creative play that fuels my fire.

The short version

I started with nothing. I've made a lot of mistakes. I've learned a few things. I'm still learning. If you're a collector, a fellow artist, or someone trying to figure out your own creative path – I'm glad you're here.
